CardMaker is a free online business card designer built specifically for the UK market. We make it easy to design professional business cards at the standard UK size of 85mm x 55mm, then download a print-ready PDF complete with 3mm bleed and crop marks.

How It Works

File Format Details

CardMaker exports your business card as a multi-page PDF with the front on page 1 and the back on page 2.

  • Resolution: 300 DPI — the industry standard for professional printing.
  • Bleed: 3mm on all four sides, extending the background colour beyond the trim line.
  • Crop marks: Corner marks showing the printer exactly where to cut.
  • Supported sizes: UK (85 x 55mm), US (89 x 51mm), EU (85 x 55mm) and custom dimensions.
  • Colour mode: RGB. Most UK online printers convert to CMYK automatically during processing.
  • Font: Helvetica (embedded in the PDF, no additional fonts required).

The PDF is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your card data never leaves your device.

Privacy

Your data stays in your browser — private, secure, and never sent to any server. The PDF is generated entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript. No personal information is uploaded, stored or transmitted.

What we store: Your card details (name, contact info, colours, template choice) are saved in your browser's localStorage. This data persists across sessions so you can return and edit your card at any time.

What we do not store: Uploaded logos are not saved to localStorage (to avoid storage limits). They exist only in your current session. We do not use cookies for tracking, and we do not collect analytics about your card designs.

Clearing your data: You can clear all saved data at any time using the “Reset” button in the card editor, or by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
